I do not believe America is Babylon. For one, our founding was done by Christians, and the whole reason people came over was to worship God. We do not have to justify evil. The Bible says that. Evil things are being done in America right now. But History will repeat itself. I believe people will wake up, and turn to God has has happened before in our nation's History. I do not know when, or how it will happen. All I know is, that History repeats itself. We had the Great Awakenings as well as a foundation on Jesus Christ and his word in the Bible. God has a special purpose just for America.
For years and years, I was forced to nod my head anytime someone said, "America is Babylon..." but no longer. I voted in the last two elections. I believe it is important to vote. God, for whatever reason, has set it up so that America we vote for a leader. When we don't vote, we give away something God gave us. What is called, "White Privilege", is really American Privilege. It is a gift from God. Use it wisely. Defend it well.
I read and hear all this stuff about America being Babylon. But I do not believe at all that America is Babylon. For one, Babylon was founded by men, for men, with men. Whereas America, was founded by men, for God, and I do believe, with God. The Bible says "For all have fallen short of the glory of God..." so, no body is perfect. Maybe, for the founders, founding America was the "One good thing" they accomplished.
My final duty station was in San Diego, California. I attended a church there, where the pastor said that America's purpose was to spread the gospel. He highlighted in American History how cities and towns were built with the church at the center. He emphasized this, by claiming the church was the first building to be built. That they used to church for lodging and defense once it was completed.
Like I said, even growing up, I was always forced to tolerate the idea that America is Babylon. But I do not believe, nor have I ever, believed anything, other than that God chose America for a special purpose. God also chose Trump as President for a special purpose. No doubt, related to the spreading of the gospel. So, although I have been surrounded for most of my life by those who consider America to be Babylon, I now have revealed that I do not believe that way. Never did. Never will, either. Maybe you are tempted to reply. Well, ask yourself this question, "What makes you think that Babylon is a nation that currently exists"? Also, look at how God used Babylon before answering. Although Babylon destroyed Jerusalem, it also protected the Jews later on. See how, Babylon may have been founded on wickedness, but it was still used by God. I do not think God is going to let America slide and become a Babylon. They say America is in the Bible. So, there is good reason to believe that America has a purpose with God.
Even if America choses not to obey God, God will still extract from America what He wants. Why? How? Because He is God. Balaam still blessed Israel, even though he set out to curse it. He was later condemned. God said to Balaam, he wanted him to bless Israel, and warned him about cursing Israel. So, God still extracted from Balaam what He required. So, even if America goes the way of Balaam, God will still get what He wants from America. So, it is IMPOSSIBLE for America to be Babylon. At least in the sense we are taught to think of Babylon. King Nebuchadnezzar humbled himself, once he was humiliated living as an animal. Later, when Nebuchadnezzar's descendant displeased God, God showed that He could remove Babylon, and He did so with the Medes and Persians.
So it is IMPOSSIBLE that America could become Babylon, is what I think. BUT, it could go the way of "Balaam", see how it is kind of a trick because there is less on Balaam. Balaam had a relationship with God, which he used and tricked Israel even after blessing it, and causing Israel to sin against God who had led them from Egypt. In a way, Balaam was a counter to Moses because he lead the children of Israel to unrighteousness. They ended up not entering the Promised Land, but later instead entered the land of Canaan. Moses is the only recorded person to ever see the Promised Land. But he never entered it. Neither did the children of Israel. So, nobody other than Moses ever saw the Promised Land. Even Jesus never saw the Promised Land.
It was almost like the same story as Adam and Eve. Except Israel was on its way to the Promised Land. But then, God caused them to wander in the desert and lead them to Canaan. Which was the land that God had given Abraham as an inheritance. Which is NOT the same thing as the Promised Land.
Last, but not least. I would like to encourage any reader to study American History. There were founders who just spent there whole lives worshipping God. There one note in History is signing the declaration of Independence. Or, even the drafting of the Constitution. I have always been taught that the Constitution is an inspired document. Even with COVID-19. We need to continue to stand firm on what we believe.
In conclusion, I do not believe America is Babylon or even a Babylon. America is unique, founded by people who loved God. They sought to worship Him in freedom and liberty. None of them were perfect. But God still used them. It is possible that America could go the way of Balaam. But Balaam still delivered on what God required of him. America was founded with God at the center, and Jesus Christ as its King. Hence, why we have elections and we need to vote in elections because that is our voice. Israel has never seen the Promised Land. We should defend the Constitution, along with the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, including the Preamble. God bless the USA. Continue to wear masks. Social Distance. #TrumpPence2020
